One Thousand Roses to Me.
I am worth one thousand roses.
I did not stop and smell the roses.
I bought them.
On a whim, just because, just for me.
I bought a smile for my face,
I bought a subject to photograph,
I bought inspiration for my words.
I bought passion for my photographs.
I bought more than just a bunch of roses.
I bought one thousand roses to illustrate the one thousand thoughts I’ve had today.

There is certainly no shame in buying oneself some flowers. I am particular to white roses from my husband. They were the first flower he ever brought me and on the first day, too! I should have known then that he was a keeper.
No shame felt here. You have a nice story, thanks for sharing it.
Beautiful photo of the white roses, Martina.
Thanks Bob, although this is how they looked with a bit of green on the end. I didn’t retouch to make something perfect that never is.
Beautiful! I love roses!!!
Thank so much for finding my blog and taking time to comment,I will have to check out your world.
Does this mean you got your camera fixed? Thanks Martina for putting a smile on my face too. Made me want to smell my monitor.
Emily, this means my friend returned the one I let her borrow, the Nikon D70. My first digital camera ever. It will be the camera for now. The camera fix fiasco is too long for comment. I will have time to call you tomorrow, I got your info. Keep that smile, I’m glad you got a smile.
I did.
Beautiful!
Thanks Roberta for your thoughts.
Very good you buy roses, in another vein, I see you’re writing in Spanish. Nice¡¡¡
Thanks Carlos, it was a good feeling to buy the roses, someone knew I needed a subject matter to photograph as they were staring at me in the grocery store as I walked in. Also, I had enough years of Spanish with little life practice. I’m good at copying the words.
I’m trying.
I imagine your house must be flooded with roses
. Did you take this shot with the D70? I love the colors!
100 photographs x 12 = the thousand roses I leave for your imagination and my mind.
Nice of you to join me.
Very nice poem and so beautiful roses.
Thanks so much Sartenada for your nice words.
Once again, lovely poem Martina. Glad to see you have the use of a camera again, I know I would go a little crazy if I didn’t have the use of a camear (lucky me that I have a few backups)! Love all the little folds in the roses, nice shot Martina.
Love the perspective in this photo. Having fresh flowers in the house makes one feel good, doesn’t it?
¡Preciosa fotografía! tiene encanto y unos colores preciosos, muchos besos
I believe that I’m going to buy myself some flowers, what a great idea. Great shot, love the light greenish coloring on the roses edges.
Beautiful! And such a lovely thing to do for yourself.
very beautiful, thank you for sharing this
